Frigidaire 70 Pint Dehumidifier FAD704TDP
![]()
If you are looking for a dehumidifier that removes humidity quickly, maintains the comfort, is virtually silent, looks good, and makes water removal easy whether manually or with a direct drainage system…then this is your unit.
You want to keep this in mind…Pint size has nothing to do with the water catcher capacity. This is the measurement of the amount of water that can be removed from the air in a 24 hour period. Put differently…Pint size determines how quickly you can get to the desired comfort level? The greater the removal capacity means…the quicker you relax.
This is critical. Why? It will determine the cycle time of the unit. The higher the removal capacity…the shorter the run time. This means less energy use, less wear and tear on the unit, and more rapid enjoyment of comfortable humidity levels.
Most product owners love the unit for the fact you can: easily adjust the humidity level, the quiet noise level, its humidity removal efficiency and the convenience of emptying the water with the catch bucket or the ease of setting up a constant drainage system.
There are always downsides to consider. This seems to be a truism with most products. Even when you have a great product…you will always find a lemon. As I combed through the testimonials at Amazon…even when people logged their complaints…they still spoke highly of this unit. Which lead me to the following conclusion.
Some people got lemons. In other words…when they were operating…they were as happy as two peas in a pod. But when they didn’t…They were sorely frustrated and wanted to fix the problem immediately. I guess what I’m saying is, there are bound to be lemons. But that doesn’t mean this is a bad product…just a bad unit. And everyone knows…it happens.
My Recommendation
If you have a large basement or living area…get the Frigidaire Dehumidifier 70 Pint unit. I would set it up to drain constantly if you are handy with tools. It really doesn’t take much to set this up. If you can’t…find a neighbor or friend who can. It will save the hassle of carrying the bucket. If not…use the bucket…others say it works great.
This sounds like a solid product to me. And even if you get a lemon…Amazon or Frigidaire stand behind their products. You may want to consider getting the extended warranty. But regardless…I think you can’t go wrong with this unit.
